Folks, that is what you call an air current attack. The immense force of the blade striking the ground has not just created a fissure... but also created an air current that can be lethal.

Do I fail physics forever? lol

Yes, you did. It's possible to make a liquid lethal, but gasses are generally too dispersed to get any kind of lethality to them, unless you're talking tornados. But, their deadliness comes in suction power, and the debris they collect, not the winds themselves.

I guess I should blame shows like Naruto or something. Oh well... but its stupid for me to learn physics from anime.

Well in fact, most anime hair defy the laws of physics :D

Well the air currents themselves are indeed harmless in theory... But a VACUUM, as the one guy said, can be harmful... Now, the vacuum itself is, as he said again, harmless itself. But, if the attack itself were to send a sweeping vacuum, a lack of matter, slicing through the air, it could actually CUT the matter, the person's body, apart. This will mean a lack of blood immediately, but since it's a vacuum, the matter would draw into said vacuum as quickly as possible.

Pretty much there'd be a less dramatic display, and when the vacuum hit, the victim would jolt back, then again forward as their body was draw into the vacuum, along with a lot of blood spewing out. Violent, gory, and AS FAR AS I KNOW, scientifically accurate.

As someone stated before gases lacks density and mass to do serious damage BUT she also shattered ground sending debris in air ad high speed, That could be lethal.
